What would it feel like to be in the generation that let the Kiwi die out and be seen to do nothing about it? Oliver Young has decided this is not an option for them.
For the second year running, Oliver Young are a supporting sponsor of Bank of New Zealand Save the Kiwi Trust. The Trust is a partnership between Bank of New Zealand and Department of Conservation, working to ensure that Kiwi once again flourish in their natural habitat for generations to come.
This commitment also marks the company's 25th anniversary and is Oliver Young's way of giving something back to New Zealand. "We have built our name on providing outstanding service to New Zealand for a quarter of a century. Being a print and creative communications company, when this opportunity came along, we saw it as a perfect way to assist with this worthy cause," says Oliver Young Managing Director, Nigel Oliver.
Because Oliver Young is a wholly New Zealand owned and operated company, supporting Bank of New Zealand Save the Kiwi was a very logical choice and it intends to pursue the sponsorship with great enthusiasm. Executive Director of Bank of New Zealand Save the Kiwi Trust, Michelle Impey, is thrilled to have Oliver Young on board.
"Kiwi are in threat of extinction within 15 years on some areas of the mainland. This is a grave prospect and one that has been caused predominantly by introduced predators such as dogs, cats, stoats, ferrets and weasels." she says. "But the good news is it's not too late. We're making progress, and in areas under management, kiwi populations are recovering."
